Parish Council Meetings

Ordinary meetings of Upton & North Elmsall Parish Council are usually held on the third Tuesday of the month at 6.30pm in the Village Hall, Harewood Lane, Upton, Pontefract, WF9 1JB.

Members of the public and press are welcome to attend Council meetings.

Agendas are published in advance of each meeting and set out the business to be considered.

The Council can only make decisions on items included on the agenda.

Public Participation

A public participation session is usually held near the start of each ordinary Council meeting.
This gives members of the public an opportunity to raise issues, ask questions or share views with the Council.

The public participation session is not part of the formal Council meeting. Members of the public may not take part in the Council meeting itself unless invited to do so by the Chair.

The public participation session is normally limited to 15 minutes, although the Chair may extend this at their discretion.

Questions and comments should relate to matters affecting the parish or the work of the Parish Council.

The Council may not be able to respond fully at the meeting, particularly where a matter requires further information or is not included on the agenda. Where appropriate, the matter may be noted for a future agenda or followed up after the meeting.
