Community Garden
The Community Garden is located on School Street and provides a welcoming outdoor space for parishioners to visit and enjoy. Residents can also register with the Parish Council for their own raised bed, giving them the opportunity to grow fruit, vegetables, flowers and other plants within a friendly community setting.

Children’s Play Areas and Outdoor Gyms
The Parish Council provides children’s play areas and outdoor gym equipment at School Street Green and Rose Estate Field. The outdoor gyms are located just outside the enclosed play areas, helping to promote outdoor fun, fitness and exercise for all ages within the community.

Village Flower Tubs
The Parish Council maintains a number of flower tubs and barrels around the village. These seasonal displays help brighten up the parish and add colour for residents and visitors as they go about their day, whether walking the dog, taking children to school, visiting local businesses or simply enjoying the village.
Memorials
The parish is home to several important memorial spaces which provide places for reflection, remembrance and community gathering.

The War Memorial
Featuring the Cenotaph, is the focal point for the annual Remembrance Service and honours those who gave their lives in service.

The Miners Memorial Garden
Remembers the miners who lost their lives working in the local mining industry, recognising the parish’s strong mining heritage and the sacrifices made by those who worked underground.

The Luke Farmer Memorial Garden
Dedicated to Rifleman Luke Farmer, who lived in Upton and was killed while serving in Afghanistan in 2010, aged 19. The garden provides a lasting local tribute to his life, service and sacrifice.
